The project, designed in collaboration with Neostudio (architectural design) and engineer Luca Pizzorni (facility design), involves replacing the existing pool, which had already been demolished, with a new building that blends into the unique and delicate coastal setting through its volumetric composition of regular, square shapes.
A large single-pitched roof sloping from east to west supported by metal truss beams covers the pool area and the public spaces and characterizes the volume.
From a structural point of view, the choices, in addition to the architectural design, had to adapt to the plant design which, given the intended use, plays a predominant role.
For the foundations, a mixed foundation system of slabs and beams was created to better adapt to the different load areas.
The predominant system of vertical structures is reinforced concrete walls with a limited number of pillars concentrated in the northern area of the building and metal columns supporting the roof.
The floors are of two different types: on modular formwork with variable heights and on predalles slabs.
The steps are prefabricated, including the step-supporting beams. The floor beams are partly prefabricated and partly cast-in-place.
The roof is of the steel lattice type with round profiles made up of 7 adjacent frames and metal columns.
This structural system pursues a dual objective:
Integration between the use of proven technologies and innovative solutions that allow us to exploit the potential offered by the development of the construction industry;
Ensure the quality of execution of the work.
