Management of Structural Works
The garage is spread over three levels and houses 70 spaces served by straight two-way ramps, running parallel to the current orientation of the strips.
The building is completely beneath fields and behind existing retaining walls, whose demolition and reconstruction was planned, coordinated with modest remodeling of the terrain to ensure a nearly uniform 100 cm layering for waterproofing, protection, drainage, and growing medium.
Although the garage constitutes a single building, in relation to its use it can be considered as the superposition of three smaller garages connected to each other only by the stairwell and lift unit, primarily aimed at overcoming architectural barriers and appropriately disengaged for fire prevention purposes.
The area has a trapezoidal shape and extends over a total surface area of approximately 1000 m2.
From a geotechnical point of view, the intervention involved massive excavations of the order of 14 m, achieved by creating a bulkhead of micropiles supported by tie rods.
The foundation, built on inverted beams, then included the construction of cast-in-place pillars and floors made of Predalles slabs within which beams were created with the thickness of the floor; this last solution was adopted in order to minimize the internal heights and consequently the excavation faces.
